My mom, as an advanced birthday gift, got me a gift certificate at a gym near where I work. A boxing gym to be exact.
It’s her own way of saying “I love you. Get healthy!” Or is it “I love you. Slim down!”?
Anyway. Starting this weekend, I’ll be availing the first of 10 workout sessions. So far, I’m excited. It’s been a long time since I actually did something to really work my muscles and sweat it out. And I’m also scared. Scared because it has been a long time.
But Camille, a boxing gym? You? Punching things?
Hey, why not? It could turn out to be a good stress reliever right? And an outlet for certain emotions that I rarely show. So yes, It could be a good thing.
Here’s goodluck to me, and hopefully I at least finish the 10 sessions. And if all goes well, I might pursue it to a whole year, but that’s thinking too far ahead. Small goals first. Small goals.
