I spent Christmas Day contemplating on what I could do during my Christmas week vacation. I ended up doing a redesign for the blog over profitable projects. Go figure.

I’ve been planning this redesign for a while which took more than a couple of sketches and PSD scraps. And yes, that is why I drew a Holiday image for a greeting in that same background. I was already planning with this colour palette in mind.

Anyway, I have a certain plan on why I did this layout. Plans that may only come to frution if I don’t lose heart and have enough will to make time for it.

And, oh, after every minute or so the header image changes. And I’m going to add more different ones so it doesn’t get boring.

Pardon the drawings too. I’ve had this pen tablet for a long while but it is only now that am using it to draw — That and I am 3 years out of practice.

This has been my second year at this, and I have given up again. And this time, much much lesser than the 10K from last year, and this is the same storyline even!

In between tooth pains, financial woes and deadlines, I was forced to throw in the towel and join the others who had to give up. I have much more valid ‘excuse’ this year than the first one though, as I was lazy then.

I plan on joining again next year, with a different story. The current one just doesn’t seem to want being written so I shall put her in the chest of ideas for now. Maybe with a new and different story, I will succeed.

For now, I need hot compress for my tooth.

Am on Day 20, where I should be at 33,334 words already but am only at 8827. And I am confused as to why.

I already have the images in my head.Scenes, characters, climactic chapters, in betweens– but they won’t get written on paper.

I took the advice of the pep talks that come in my email, and skip to scenes which I find more convenient to write (And scenes I would want to write) and excited to write. But the rest of the words don’t come easy.

For example, I want to write the characterization and brief history of one character to explain why she is the way she is now, but they are on my fingertips but don’t want to be put down.

Seriously, if I comput right now, I may have more words written in my blog entries for this month alone than on my actual NaNo entry.

I know I can write this, since the story is almost finished in my head. And when I dream, it’s the same fantasy story that I come back to. Along with my sketches and little mini-vignettes.

I guess it’s also a wrong timing for my tooth problem too. As I am more keen on earning more money than writing.

I don’t want to give up, but I am seriously thinking it.

My current resolution however is write, write, write… and see what I come up with at the end of November.
