First Day of the Rest of My Life
These are the lines kept running through my head as I entered the office building this morning. Indeed…
It was the first day of my life as a VMD (Visual Merchnadising Division) Assistant Manager for C&T, a.k.a. Assistant Art Director for a certain Division
Oh… I forgot to tell you. I got transferred… And it was my first day today.
*wide grin*
Yes people! Things have changed, and turned out better than I expected. Though it’s just my first day, I can’t say yet how much it is. But still… this is far better than I hoped it can be.
The Details
May 25 - got a call from HRM, saying there is an opening at VMD for an artist of some sort. Opportunity!!! Said I”ll get a call when I can be interviewed
May 26 - got a call around 3.30pm saying my interview with the VP for Externals is at that moment. O_o She kept telling me what the job description is and what everything else I need to know about the job– and immediately asked me if I had any pending works in my previous department, and if not when I could start… She said she can call the VP for the HR services and get my papers ready immediately… That is IF I consider…
Uhm… what kind of interview was that? They didn’t even ask me what I can do… O_o
Theory: They see me as an asset since my mom has been a loyal employee in the company, plus I got merchandising training so I would understand the demands of the division I’ll be supporting.. that’s why they want me? Not sure though ;;^^
May 28 - Interview at VMD with the VMD Division Manager. I brought my portfolio with my recent vector works (which he actually liked) and even skimmed my resume… and said… I don’t need to interview you because of your “credentials”
O_o Again, what kind of interview was this?
Anyway, he simply said if I can start on June 1, and if I can tolerate the demands of the job. Of course I said yes… This is opportunity!!! No breach of contract, no escaping through suicide, no heartbreaks for parents, no heartbreak for me– this was the perfect opportunity!
But still, my previous IS (immediate supervisor) wanted to extend, so today became my first day.
Oh well.. It’s cool. But I have lots more to learn and find out. At least, I’ll be doing it with a smile on my face. Ne? ^_____^
EDIT: and even if I don’t have my own PC (yet… am sharing with my IS)… I get to use the PC more hehe
