Day of Days
Today, Self-Similarity returns from hiatus with a new interface and 5 new skins. In case you didn’t know, the site uses skins so the frequent reader can change the whole layout of the site while seeing the same content. Kind of like skinning your Winamp, Media Player or Trillian or a new housing for your hand-held phone. Yes, just by picking one, you can change how the site looks, while the content remains the same (unfortunately). All of the current skins for this site are table-less, meaning Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is it’s entire backbone, so your browser has to support that. If it doesn’t, you can still read the content… just not in the manner you’re supposed to see it ^^ (minus the graphic layout).
Why am I doing this? As I’ve said before, I found using tables in layouts tricky, especially if you want your site cross-browser friendly. And CSS solves this problem of showing the same thing across most browers. Still a bit tricky, but it makes layout editing faster and easier– believe me. So go ahead and pick a skin!
The current default skin is entitled Detail Inside Detail, an all green layout. A simple skin so that the frequent readers can be forced to use the other skins. Mwahahaha! #ahem# Yet, elegant enough (I hope) for first-time visitors. Browse for the rest of the skins here, and pick one! And tell me which one you like best and will be using. If you know you’ve already picked one yet it doesn’t change, just reload/ refresh your browser. I don’t know yet how to automate it like these guys. ;;^__^

+ The profile page has some added content, FAQs and a random fact section that changes every pageload ^_~
+ The links to my daily reads, blog crews and other memberships have been moved here to save the main page some clutter.
+ Categories though are currently being reorganized, since they were limited, so archives can only be listed by months as of the moment. But will be up at the same time as LE and Persona’s openings.

The re-opening of Lesser Evil and opening of Persona will be postponed until Saturday morning (August 9). I’m still tweaking 10% of the LE and 50% of Persona’s content– I’m almost done, it’s just that real life tends to get in the way ^_~. I want it nice and good for everyone, kay? So bear with me.

By 11:48 am today, I’ll officially be 21 years old. Yey! ^__^
And by this evening, something else will be official ^_~ If you’ve been reading the Pin Board, you’ll know what I mean… But you’ll have to wait til Saturday morning for updates. Regarding this and the other announcements I have to make. My goodness, does it seem am pretty busy? Actually, not really… Everything’s just going well as it is since it’s my month. Besides, am not really busy, not until by the end of the month or by the start of next month anyway… *hint, hint*
