2009, in review

Darth Vader and R2D2 cruisin — a summary of my collecting habits.
Here’s a summary of all the things that happened for me in the past year.
- January 2009
- Started the new year with a new job with a different set of qualifications, but still with an almost same job description.
- February 2009
- Started living away from home, renting my own place. Had a crash course on personal responsibilities and such.
- March 2009
- I was mostly offline during these times, due to the hectic schedule, work and since I still had no internet at the apartment.
- April 2009
- Got engaged. And despite earlier assumptions, no it was not due to convenience or because I got compromised. Let’s just say that it’s all for everyone’s peace of mind.
- May 2009
- Star Trek (sort-of reboot) was awesome! Got married, on Geek Pride Day no less. Tumblr usage went into full swing. I have entered the dark side of collecting LEGO, also how very appropriate my first minifigs are Star Wars related.
- June 2009
- Still into plurk, probably way too much. Little sister started college, in the far reaches of UP Los BaƱos. A sudden change for my parents as both their little girls are suddenly not home for a very long time.
- July 2009
- I decided the fate of my blog, as I was more active in social sites than on my own.
- August 2009
- Just had a simple dinner with a few friends for my dinner and more work. Also, Ai showed signs of her old age so I had to have her logicboard and some other things replaced (thank goodness for Apple Care). I also got her an additional RAM and a new battery. But I spent more than 2 weeks without her, which meant working at the office a lot.
- September 2009
- Last year, I was figuratively caught in a storm, while this year there literally was a storm and hit close to home, and it will forever be dubbed as “the week Ondoy happened.” Dad also got sick, probably because he has been separated from his two daughters so suddenly.
- October 2009
- I have fallen into the pit of building Gundam play kits. And yes, I spent most of the free time I had left the whole month building.
- November 2009
- Again went to Singapore with the husband for Anime Festival Asia, this time we had more time to explore around, and even got lost. Getting lost has its benefits as well. We also saved a lot more on our daily expenses so we could shop more!
- December 2009
- Got hooked into playing Dragon Age: Origins on the PS3. Bought my self a Flickr Pro account, as back up for all my photos, and also just for my toy photos. First Christmas with hubby, got an HD monitor, a bargain alternative for all our gaming and watching needs.
In general, the collector and nerd in me has started in full blast and what better way to share it with a fellow geek for the rest of my life.
Here’s to better and brighter things for 2010. Belated Happy New Year to all of you!
